Coastal Blue Conch Shell Dish

A conch shell with its ribbing running out from the hinge, poured by hand and finished smooth.
It works as a ring dish on a dresser or a small catchall on a coastal shelf. Deep enough for candle sand and a wick, if you'd like to use it that way.

The finish is smooth and stone like, cool to the touch, with a soft sheen rather than a shine. The ribs run right to the edge, so the rim is scalloped rather than cut.

Poured individually, so the colour lands a little differently from shell to shell.

🐦 HANDMADE, ONE AT A TIME
Materials: Jesmonite, pigment and sealer.

Size: 5 in long, 5 in wide, 2.25 in tall.

Every piece is poured, demolded, sanded by hand and sealed here in my home studio in Austin, in small batches. Small air bubbles, tiny pinholes and slight variation in texture are natural in hand poured pieces. They are not faults, they are the fingerprint of a handmade cast. Colour and pattern vary, so the photographs show an example rather than the exact piece you will receive.

💧 CARE
Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Never soak or place in the dishwasher. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasives, direct heat and prolonged sunlight. Handle with care, may chip if dropped. Decorative only, not food safe.

Jesmonite is heat resistant but not fireproof. With lit candles, do not leave them unattended and extinguish once five millimeters of wax remains.
