Midnight Plum Statement Bowl

The largest piece in the shop. A deep round bowl poured in cream with midnight plum, marbled through it, that reads almost black until the light catches it. It is heavy enough to feel substantial the moment you pick it up. 

It is a centrepiece rather than a trinket dish. It holds keys and post by a front door, or a remote on the coffee table. Deep enough for candle sand and 3-4 wicks if you'd like to use it that way.

The finish is smooth and stone like, cool to the touch, with a soft sheen rather than a shine. The weight is the thing people comment on first.

A bowl this size takes a full batch and a careful pour, and the marbling runs right through it. Every one is different and none of them can be repeated.

🐦 HANDMADE, ONE AT A TIME
Materials: Jesmonite, pigment and sealer.

Size: 7.75 in diameter, 2 in tall

Every piece is poured, demolded, sanded by hand and sealed here in my home studio in Austin, in small batches. Small air bubbles, tiny pinholes and slight variation in texture are natural in hand poured pieces. They are not faults, they are the fingerprint of a handmade cast. Colour and pattern vary, so the photographs show an example rather than the exact piece you will receive.

💧 CARE
Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Never soak or place in the dishwasher. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasives, direct heat and prolonged sunlight. Handle with care, may chip if dropped. Decorative only, not food safe.

Jesmonite is heat resistant but not fireproof. With lit candles, do not leave them unattended and extinguish once five millimeters of wax remains.
